The Tempest Original oil filter,Using Tempest Original filters means no more frustration with installation nuts falling off.
The Tempest Original filter has a larger media area (311 square inches) than any other aviation oil filter.
Magnetic Filtration System
The Tempest Original filter has a larger media area (311 square inches) than any other aviation oil filter. The internal magnet is designed to attract fine steel particles that are too small to be captured by the filter medium, effectively improving the filter performance of the filter.
Improved nut welding
The nut is solidly welded and the jar will tear before welding. No more frustration with loose mounting nuts!
Compliant with TCM by-pass technical specifications of 12-14 pound-per-square inch, reducing the risk of premature by-passing resulting in unfiltered oil flowing into the engine.
Burst strength of 600 pounds per square inch
Significant improvements to the rolling seam process used at the bottom can significantly increase the design burst strength to more than 600 pounds per square inch, which exceeds the ARP 1400 standard by 50%. The extra strength provides the Tempest oil filter with additional assurance that it can withstand the harshest operating conditions.
Non-stick washer
Combined with specially lubricated synthetic rubber base washers, they help ensure proper torque during installation and ease of removal.
Note: All Cessna aircraft modified under the Cessna Service Bulletin SEB-93-1 or MEB-93-1 require the Tempest oil filter AA48108. AA48109 can be used if the clearance allows installation.
